The Henry County Health Center offers nutrition education not only to participants in the WIC Program,
but also to members of the community. Anyone in the community is welcome to attend classes at the WIC office, or inservices
may be provided for local groups. An Infant Feeding/Starting Solids class is offered two times per month. This
class targets first-time parents whose infants will be ready to start solid foods soon. A "Kids in the
Kitchen" class is also offered. This provides a fun way for kids to learn about cooking and make food themselves.
Classes will be taught by a Registered Dietitian. See link below for a schedule of classes.
Breastfeeding is always recommended by the WIC Program. Classes are taught by the Breastfeeding Coordinator.
These classes are open to both participants and the community. See link below for a schedule of classes.
A nutrition helpline is available for those with questions. You can call toll-free at 1-866-885-7997
or 885-8195. If you prefer to talk with someone, feel free to schedule a time with the dietitian for nutrition counseling.
